Country Day Cares is a series of Service Learning Projects that take place during the school year. The students work together on projects that will help others. Country Day Cares is an important part of the school program that inspires children to live compassionately.
Our first Country Day Cares Project this year will be a food drive to benefit The Food Bank of North Alabama. The food bank helps to feed hungry families in North Alabama. The food drive will start on October 16th and end on November 16th.
Food needed the most:
- Canned meat or fish
- Canned vegetables
- Peanut butter
- Soups, chili, or stew
- Dinner kits (Hamburger Helper, rice, noodles, etc.)
- Breakfast cereal
- Canned fruits
The food will be collected in each classroom. Each class will build something with the cans and boxes, for example, snowmen or rockets. Before we deliver the food the students will visit the different classes to see what each class built.
